2010 Income Tax return - What is going to be tax return trend in 2010

2010 Income tax return filing season is about to start. There are 2 main ways that people go about filing tax returns -

1. Paid Tax Return Filing - This is done through tax consultants or tax preparers such as HR Block, Jackson Hewitt etc. Also, there are good softwares such as TurboTax tax return software that are available for reasonable price

2. Free Tax Filing Methods - This is through Free tax return services, such as Free efiling that IRS also encourages.

Now, which method seems to be more prevelant in 2010. The paid methods are primarily for people whose tax returns require multiple deuctions such as if the filing person as invested anything instocks/bonds or whose kid is going to college. Free methods are for people whose returns are going to be straight forward and doesn't require any unknown deductions. 

I personally feel that in 2010, Income Tax Return filing softwares are going to be popular. Thats becasue the softwares have more or less caught up with the skills that tax consultants carry. There may be hardly any deduction that a software like turbo tax may not be aware of.

Also, the tax softwares are of lower cost as compared to services from tax consultants.
