I have argued that there needs to be a combination of monetary and fiscal cuts in order that the British economy can receive a well needed stimulus, although I am not naive enough to believe that it will stave off a recession. But these cuts must take the form of a reduction in direct taxation, income tax, not indirect such as VAT...
