The McCain campaign's claims that Obama's policies are "socialist" is clearly a lie. What they really object to is progressive taxation (as in richer people pay a greater percentage of their income in taxes than poorer people), something that has been the law of the land since 1913, and which until recently, McCain ardently supported.
