As per information at Bloomberg.com, stated-
Feb. 19 (Bloomberg) — Intuit Inc., the world’s biggest maker of tax-preparation software, Turbo tax reported second-quarter earnings and forecast full-year profit that topped analysts’ estimates. The shares climbed in extended trading.
Profit minus some items was 34 cents a share in the period ended Jan. 31, Mountain View, California-based Intuit said today in a statement. That compared with the average 26-cent estimate of analysts in a Bloomberg survey. Earnings in 2009 will be at least $1.78, three cents more than analysts predicted.
Intuit typically makes a profit in the second and third quarters leading up to the U.S. tax-filing deadline of April 15. The company doesn’t recognize payment for its TurboTax program sold through the Intuit Web site until customers submit returns. Because Intuit makes most of its money in the periods leading up to the filing deadline, investors tend to focus on annual results".
