Turbo tax software is one of the many ways to file your annual income tax return.But virtually all of them carry a cost factor.
The best way for you to file depends on your income, the complexity of your situation and how good you are at following directions. Your options are the following:
Free file option,if you qualify in any of the below:
- If you have an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $28,500 or less in the year 2008.
- If you served active duty military and earned an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $52,000 or less in 2008. Active duty military even includes Reservists and National Guard. For qualifying you need a W-2 of 2008 form from the military to qualify.
- If you qualify for the earned income credit (EIC) for tax year 2008 then also you shall qualify for free Federal tax filing.
With tax softwares like Turbotax 2009, you can even file your tax returns electronically which would expedite the processing of your return & you shall receive the refund expressly in almost like in a period of 2-3 weeks.
