What NOT to do for the 2010 tax return filing
Stop the whining and let us get our acts together for the 2010 tax return filing. Even if it is really hard to swallow the fact that the government gets a cut out of our hard-earned salary, there is nothing that we can do about it. Aside from consoling ourselves that our taxes go to certain improvements and services, we could always think that we’re just doing a part of our being American citizens. Here are some things that you should NOT do for the income tax return filing this 2010 (or the coming years):
-Cheat on taxes.
Never ever think of doing this very improper act. Not declaring your income gains to limit the tax that would be withheld from your account or to increase your tax refund is punishable by law. Imagine living a life with a tax lawsuit just because you wanted to save a few dollars. It won’t really be worth it.
-Opt not to avail of possible tax deductions.
Times are hard nowadays so we need to be practical in every possible way. While preparing for tax return filing 2010, read about different tax deductions that you might be able to enjoy. Gather related receipts as supporting evidences so you could easily justify your tax deductions.
-Do your tax report the night before the deadline.
While some may argue that cramming is an art, this is not a fair excuse to do your tax report the night before the deadline. Remember that you might encounter some errors in preparing your tax report. As such, it is important to have enough time to check and re-check on your calculations and data.
The 2010 tax return filing task is not that entirely bad. As long as you keep yourself on the right track, you’re sure to have a fulfilling experience.
